Daycare Photos: Outdoor Play

A couple of photos from daycare. In the first one she is sitting with her daycare friends getting ready to go outside (thus, the hats). In the second photo you can see how Veronica prefers to go down slides these days: feet first, tummy down. At least that's better than head first!

Veronica loves being with her friends and interacting with them during circle. She also loves going down the slide on her belly but feet first instead of head first, when she comes to the bottom of the slide you can hear her saying, "Weeeee," as she is coming down.

I received this photo from daycare yesterday. Veronica loves to clean up! Sometimes she spills some of her milk/water on purpose just to clean it up!

Here is a picture of Veronica from this morning during breakfast. She spilt her milk and wanted to clean it up all by herself with a napkin. I love how she posed for the picture.

Daycare Photo: Veronica said "I go fast" as she went down the slide

This is the last photo we will be getting from Adrienne and Jessica, the Toddler 1 teachers. Today Veronica is transitioning into the Toddler 2 room (2y-2y9m). We will miss Adrienne and Jessica, but will still get to see them frequently since the toddler rooms are connected. They grow so quickly, don't they?
Last Friday, Adrian and I had a parent-teacher conference with the Toddler 2 teachers in preparation for the transition. Maria, the lead Toddler 2 teacher, said she did not think Veronica would have any trouble with the transition and that her language is very advanced for her age. Every day she says something to us that completely surprises us. Kids are such sponges!

Here are portraits taken about 2 months ago at daycare. I love that the photographer captured her tongue sticking out. She does that sometimes when she's concentrating. (Click each photo to enlarge.)

Daycare Photos: Shape Crowns and Frames

The curriculum theme for this month in the Toddler One classroom is colors and shapes. The first photo shows Veronica wearing a shape crown, and the second photo shows her gluing shapes on a frame. Sitting next to her is Audrey, the little girl she tried to console when Audrey first transitioned into the Toddler One class (click on this link to see that post). Kind of as if Audrey were a freshman and Veronica's the senior that's got her back.

Toddler One families,
Today we dressed up in shape crowns, as the children wore the crowns we talked about the shapes & colors on each crown. We also had the children glue shapes onto a rectangle frame. We named each shape & color as they glued their shapes on.

Daycare Photo & Veronica Says

This is a photo of Veronica in daycare, clapping during Sign To Me
Sing To Me. Veronica doesn't use her signs much anymore now that she
can talk, though she still does the sign for milk sometimes. She loves
to dance and sing and Sign To Me Sing To Me allows her to do both so
she really enjoys it.
Switching topics, here's another conversation one of the daycare
teachers had with Veronica this week:

Jessica: Is that your mommy?
Veronica: Yes.
Jessica: What are you doing with your mommy?
(Veronica puts the toy inside the play microwave and closes the door.)

Really, "he he he", just like that, exactly what you think. Yessir,
that's my daughter. Have I mentioned she's been favoring Daddy a lot
recently? Uhm hmm.

Today on our buggy ride we saw that the Farmer's Market was set up. We
went to see what they had & there was a Live Lobster & Fish stand. The
woman was so nice to show the children a lobster & let them touch an
old lobster claw.

I Wear My Sunglasses At Nap

Veronica usually falls asleep with a book at daycare during nap time.
One day I visited and the book was wedged between her face and her
pillow. But last Thursday she wanted to sleep with her sunglasses.
