Veronica Daycare Photo: Walk to look at a house being built

Hello Parents,

We are continuing to talk about how to plan and build a house. Today on our walk, we saw a house that was in the process of being built. We talked about all the different materials needed to build a house and how to do it. We then came back to school and talked about those materials during circle. Then we talked about what materials were needed to make our own classroom house. Here are the pictures!

Veronica is wearing a pink top. She is in the front of the line in this photo, you can just see her arm.

Still at the front of the line, you can see the top of her head and her pink left arm.

She is in the middle of the photo here, pink shirt and striped pants.

April 2013

A few random photos from April 2013:

On our way out the door in the morning

Adrian and I were actually at the Boston Marathon last April. We were located after finish line, on the same side of the street where the bombs went off, but a bit further down. Fortunately, our two friends finished the marathon about 20 minutes before they went off so we were a couple of blocks away at that point. It was unbelievable and not an experience I want to repeat.

I would much rather remember how happy that day was before all heck broke loose. The weather was gorgeous. We were there to cheer on the runners, particularly our friends running the race. Here they are, Carrie and Robyn. We're very proud of them. Way to go, ladies!

Friends' Wedding & Palaro Olympics

A photo of just me and Adrian is as rare as the babysitting that allowed it to happen! Lola and Gramps are visiting, which means we were able to go to a wedding 2 weekends ago. Congratulations Sandra & David! The wedding was lovely and the weather was fantastic. Thanks to Lola and Gramps for babysitting.

The following day, Veronica had IP (Iskwelahang Pilipino = Filipino School). The school had the Palaro Olympics, where the kids divide into teams and compete in Filipino children's games. She had a great time and her team won it all! The last game was Pabitin, a Filipino children's game where the kids try to grab candy strung from a frame which is bobbed above their heads. Here is Veronica playing with her classmates:
She was very happy with what she grabbed: gummy bears!

Easter 2013

I never got around to posting these Easter photos, so here they are:

Max Daycare Photos: Stacking Blocks and Sand Box Fun

Thank goodness our daycare sends out so many photos! It makes it easy to post up-to-date photos of the kids on this blog. Here are 2 photos of Max from yesterday. In the sand box photo, he is on the left reaching into the bucket. Apparently, he can walk all the way out to the playground and all the way back to the class room all by himself! That's a pretty long way. He's pretty stable on his feet now and loves to chase after Ate, both of them giggling along the way.

Veronica Daycare Photos: Construction Walk

This month, Veronica's preschool will be learning about construction and building. She's very excited about it and loves wearing her pink hard hat and Mommy's safety glasses while playing construction with her blocks. Here is an email from preschool showing a small trip to a construction site. Veronica is wearing a light pink jacket, she is in the middle of the group.

Hi Parents,
We are fortunate enough to be located in a construction site, perfect for this months curriculum! The children got hands on experiences today while walking around Kendall Square and learning about different construction vehicles. Take a look at the pictures we took!
