Parents,
Today for our last day of learning about plants, growing, and flowers we did another experiment using white flowers and water colors. The flowers are changing beautiful colors and the children are very excited about it. They are learning that flowers take in water through their stems then feed the petals. We also planted our own grass in small cups, each child got a chance to plant seeds and and water their soil. Take a look at the pictures!
Thank you,
Lauren, Claudia and Aisha

Hi Preschool Families,
Today in preschool we continued our conversation surrounding growing plants, flowers, and vegetables. The children created a flower crown as an art activity this morning. Everyone seemed to really enjoy this activity. Some children used flower stickers, while other children glued fabric flowers to their crown. Please see pictures attached!
Attached you will also find this week's curriculum.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Hello Families,
Today at TSC, a new musician/ story teller came in and played with us! His name is Hugh Hanley and the children had a wonderful morning with him. In addition to singing songs with the kids, we also had them help him turn his rope from a caterpillar to a butterfly! This was perfect because it also goes side by side with the preschool curriculum! The children have already asked about his return to our school!
Please see pictures attached
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Good afternoon families

This morning our older friends explored different textures.  They had fun sticking the materials on and off the sticky paper.
While outside. Brody and Ernie were interacting with each other.  They were cooing back and forth.

Have a great day

Hello Preschool Families,
Today we wrapped up our curriculum surrounding bugs. This week we created a KWL chart. At the beginning of the week we stated the things that we already knew and wanted to learn about it. Today during circle we then created a list of things that we learned this past week. Attached you will find a picture of our KWL chart. Check it out! The children retained so much information! AMAZING!
Attached you will also find a picture [from yesterday] of the preschool friends and Lauren observing our new classroom pet. We found a spider in our classroom! (so convenient) we decided to name it Minnie. We researched what pet spiders could eat, and we learned that they love bananas and sausages! We gave Minnie a piece of banana because the children all thought she looked hungry!
To make a transition into next week, we read the book Bob and Otto. This book was about a worm and a caterpillar who are best friends. We focused mainly on the worm today since Lauren will be talking about metamorphosis next week. The children seemed to really enjoy this book. I highly suggest going to the library and renting out this book! It teaches facts about worms and caterpillars but also how to be a great friend.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hello Preschool Families,
Today we continued our conversation surrounding bugs and insects. Ladybugs were the focused topic of today's circle conversation and morning activities. We started by going around and stating facts that we knew about ladybugs. We came up with:
  • They can crawl
  • They can fly because they have wings
  • They are red with black polka dots on their back
After doing some some research with the teachers, we learned even more information about lady bugs!
  • Most lady bugs eat other plant eating bugs
  • Aphids are ladybugs' favorite thing to eat
  • The black dots on their back are to scare away predators
We then read the book The Lazy Ladybug by Isobel Finn and Jack Tickle. The children seemed to really love this book about a ladybug who never learned how to fly because they were so lazy. With the help of some animal friends, she learns how to spread her wings and fly! We ended our morning with insect/bug related activities, which included creating ladybugs.
Please see pictures attached!
We hope everyone is having a marvelous day!

Max Daycare Photos: Spring Playground Fun

We are lucky that one of Max's teachers, Kelly, loves to take photos. She emailed us this bunch last week. Max just starting to walk is timed perfectly for spring! Here he is exploring the playground.
