Kids' Corner Orientation

Veronica just spent the last week at orientation for her after school program, Kids' Corner. She had a blast ("We did karate!") and we're happy with the program so far. They even went on a field trip on Wednesday. After her first day we asked her if she missed daycare. She said she didn't think about it all day long! Hello Parents,

I hope you all are having a great Friday thus far. Today we had lunch in the roof top garden for lunch. It was a gorgeous day, and we all had a brownie as a special treat for being so awesome for me over the past two weeks. Also, there was some company function going on, so we had the added bonus of some fun music playing as we ate our lunches. I have attached a word doc with some pictures of us enjoying our lunch in the lovely weather. I also want to say I had an awesome time being the Pre-K teacher these past two weeks and really enjoyed spending time with all of your wonderful children. They are all a joy to work with.

Hi Everyone:

Today we started our week long study on the I Spy Books by Walter Wick and Jean Marzollo. We began with I Spy Treasure Hunt and focused on the sand page. Everyone had an opportunity to come up and find an object on the page. After circle we went on an "I Spy Walk" we sat on the lawn chairs in Kendall Sq and "spied" lots of different things.

Hello Parents and Happy Friday!

I'm sure everyone is looking forward to their weekend. We started our Friday off right by getting outside in the sun and splashing around during water play. The kids had a great time bouncing around the puddles and running through the sprinklers. Pre-K and Toddler 2 joined us and we all played together in the nice warm weather. I've put together some pictures in the Word document that is attached. Enjoy!

Subject: Solar System Recap

Hello Parents and Happy Friday!

Today in Pre-K we finished our week on the solar system. We finished making and hanging our planets and the kids really enjoyed decorating and putting them together. We also finished putting together our Planet Research Projects by filling out the rest of our fact sheets. After all of that, the children got to taste some freeze dried astronaut ice cream. It was Neapolitan, and not surprisingly, chocolate was the overwhelming favorite. I put together a little picture sheet that I've attached.

I hope everyone has a great rest of their day and can get some time to enjoy one of the remaining few weekends of summer. See you guys at pick up time.

As we have been talking about the summer bodies of water, sea shores and what we find in each of them; today we talked about boats. So we set off to a walk to see the boats by the Charles River. They also had a great time making the ocean sensory bags, they are in their mailboxes!

Visit from Gramps 07-13July2014

Gramps came for a visit last July. Gramps spent lots of time with the kids. He babysat one day and took the kids to an indoor play space. We also went to the farmer's market, and Marblehead for some beach time and lobster! Here are a few photos (click to enlarge any photo):
