The middle of our week in NYC brought us to Momofuku for delicious ramen, then to the roof of Jose and Erik's building for fireworks!
I took entirely too many photos of the fireworks (as one does), but I did manage to get just the last minute or so on video:
The next day Lola and Gramps checked into their hotel, directly across from the Oculus, which is just amazing to look at and be in. The kids also took advantage of the hotel pool.
We spent the week of July 4th in NYC and had a fantastic time. We did so many things that I've split our adventures into 3 different blog posts.
The start of our trip began with a day at the Children's Museum of the Arts. The kids did a lot of hands-on activities, including painting, clay ocean creatures, and computer animations. I think the highlight (for me anyway) were the cool spun chairs. Take a look at the spun chair videos in the album link below!
The next day we went to Eataly for lunch. We stuffed ourselves with seafood and pasta, then finished it off with a Nutella crepe!
Then Adrian and I went to see Hamilton! It was fantastic! I had never been part of an audience that was so giddy. You could really feel that everyone just felt so lucky to be there. Thanks to Jose's friend for the hookup!
June began with Winchester Town Day, where Veronica got to do a bit of rock wall climbing.
The kids also had lots of bicycle time, and Veronica learned to ride a bike! Adrian promised her a new big girl bike when she learned to ride, and he delivered. She loves her new 7-speed.
Veronica also had Field Day at school. I volunteered and it was lots of fun, especially since we parents and teachers beat the 5th graders in tug-of-war!
Max and Adrian got fitted for the tuxes for Elyse's wedding.
June also brought a visit to the Buddes' house, with their little pool.
The end of the school year was celebrated by Veronica's class with a little show with songs for the parents.
