Hello Preschool families!

What a wonderful and adventurous day we had today! The children were very excited to take a walk around the Volpe Center today! We looked for multi- colored leaves, acorns, sticks and seed pods to use in our beautiful Thanksgiving decorations. We found so many wonderful treasures! The children then came back inside, where they enjoyed some games of balloon tennis, scooping and pouring real cranberries in their very own cranberry bogs, setting their own Thanksgiving table in the House corner and of course, using the materials they had collected to make their decorations. Attached you will find a PowerPoint slideshow showing the children participating in all the fun activities. Be sure to look at the photos with your child. Ask them questions and help them recall their day from beginning, middle and end. We have been focusing on sequential events and storytelling lately and by using prompts such as " and then what happened?" and "what came next?" it helps with their reflective attentive skills and jogs their memory.

I also had a chance to talk to the children about what it means to be thankful and why it's so important to say "Thank you". The children also had the opportunity to tell me what they were thankful for in their lives. Here is a list of their answers, Enjoy!

Samantha: I'm thankful for all the clothes that mommy buys and for my parents.

Oliver: I'm thankful for my friends and family....and chocolate and cakes!

Goodie: I'm thankful for my family and my sister.

Aleksandra: I'm thankful for chocolate cakes. I like them.

Maya: I'm thankful for my mommy.

Benjamin: I'm thankful for chicken and pasta.

Alexa: I'm thankful for candy....and daddy and mommy.

Zachary F: I'm thankful for ice cream and for my mommy and daddy.

Lev: I'm thankful for my family.

Micah: I'm thankful for Thanksgiving and my mom and dad.

Zachary A: My mommy.

Ariella: I'm thankful for my daddy to buy me clothes and shoes.

Jacob: I'm thankful all my family loves me.

Max: I'm thankful for my Lola and gramps, mommy, daddy and Ate.

Paris: I'm thankful for strawberries and eggs and daddy.

From the mouths of babes! So cute!

Once again, on behalf of the preschool team here at TSC, we would like to wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

Love,
The Preschool Team

Preschool families,
Attached you will find a glimpse of our planned activities in preschool today! Hope that you enjoy looking at the pictures and reading about our mostly sensory exploration with different spices and flavors we buy at the grocery store. Today we read: TO Market, To Market and discussed where food comes from (factory or the farm). After, we worked on mixing fruit flavored liquids with the eyedroppers, combining nutmeg and vanilla(shaving cream), creating a shopping list by matching the correct food categories, doing some shopping in our grocery store , and painting with spices. The children are portraying the jobs of the grocery store very well, their role play is so delightful to watch! They are so thrilled about having real props to play around with!
Best,
Preschool Teachers

Hi Everyone!
We had another great day in preschool. We read a wonderful and funny
book called Night of the Veggie Monster. It was about a little boy
who thought he would turn into a monster if he ever ate PEAS! After
some protesting he tried one and found out he actually liked it. After
the book we had a discussion about how important it is to try new
foods. We also participated in many fun activities please watch our
slide show to see!
Have a great day!
Claudia

Here are a few photos from November 2015. I went to Colorado for 5 days for work and Ninong was nice enough to come help Adrian for 3.5 days. It was very much appreciated! Thank you, Ninong!

22nd Wine and Dine

Here are a few photos from the 22nd Wine & Dine. Wine & Dine was in Boston this year, so that meant we brought the kids and we could all sleep over! Of the 4 kids, Veronica went to bed the earliest at around 9:30pm, Penny and Clark around 10pm and Max not until past 11pm!
