Veronica Turns Five!
Veronica turned five at the beginning of September. We were very grateful that Ninong, Lola, Gramps and Grandmom all traveled to celebrate her birthday with us. The night before her birthday we had a family birthday dinner. (Click on any photo to enlarge it.)
After the party, the family all went back to our house to relax. We decided it was a good time to take some family photos.

Birthday girl
This year, we were able to have her birthday party on her actual birthday. Because of his tight show schedule, Ninong left NYC early the morning of her birthday to drive up to Boston. Luckily, he was able to spend the night, but had to leave in the morning the following day. A short trip, but we were very happy to have him come!
We rented out the local gymnasium where the kids have taken gymnastics classes. We had the entire place to ourselves and 2 gymnastics instructors guiding the kids along various activities.

She almost took Max out while swinging on the rope swing!

The theme of the birthday party: Disney's "Frozen" (of course!)
I love these gigantic sparkling snowflakes we used as centerpieces/balloon weights.
The kids had fun while the parents looked on.
Getting directions on how to use the trampoline safely.
Down (and up and down) the trampoline she goes, ending up in the foam pit!
As always, Lola did a ton of work making delicious Filipino food for the party. Our guests, particularly the adults, appreciated there was real food (other than the usual kid's birthday pizza)! Lola made pancit and adobo rice. Some of the dads went back for thirds!
Getting all of the kids to sit still for a photo was difficult. Max likes to be a rebel.
Veronica in her "Frozen" leotard. That's a custom iron-on I bought from Etsy.com.
Veronica with her old BFF, Mia (who just graduated pre-K to go to kindergarten), and her new BFF, Olivia (who is now in pre-K with her).
Getting SUPER excited while the bouncy structure is inflated.

Then down the other side!
Through the tunnel
Things got a bit crazy on the bouncy area of the structure. Luckily, nobody got hurt.
Bouncy area mosh pit casualty. Veronica lends Audrey a hand.
Time for Filipino food and pizza! Nom nom.

Getting ready to sing "Happy Birthday"
After the party, the family all went back to our house to relax. We decided it was a good time to take some family photos.
This is pretty much the best family photo you can get when you have a 2-year-old.
A big group photo

A very happy birthday girl wearing an Anna tiara, an Elsa dress and carrying an Elsa wand.
The next day at school, Veronica celebrated her birthday with her pre-K friends with more cupcakes. The other kids, teacher, Adrian and I all sang "Happy Birthday" to Veronica.
Lucas, Eric, Ben, Veronica and Olivia. Unfortunately, Ian was still asleep (snack is right after nap) and missed out on the cupcakes.
