The three of us traveled to Washington, DC last weekend for Veronica's baptism. On the way down, we met up with Adrian's Uncle Ricky near King of Prussia, PA. Uncle Ricky was kind enough to drive an hour south out of his way so that he could give us the Boldt Family baptismal gown. All of the Boldt grandchildren and all three great-grandchildren (now including Veronica) have been baptized in this handmade gown. This tradition began in 1966! We are so grateful to Uncle Ricky for delivering the gown to us, and on a Harley to boot! There are a couple of photos of the lovely gown in the photo album (the link is below). You can definitely make out all the names hand-embroidered in the gown. Isn't that amazing?
After getting the gown from Uncle Ricky, we drove another hour to Downingtown to visit with Grandma Betty LeBuffe and Uncle Paul and Aunt Penny. We spent the night and the four of us (now including Grandma) drove to Falls Church the next morning.
Veronica was very lucky to have her Aunt Elyse (now godmother), Grandma Kathy, and Great Grandma Betty at her baptism. That's 4 generations! We were so happy to have Kathy and Elyse fly in all the way from Houston for the baptism. Erik and Jose (now ninong = godfather) drove down from NYC. We spent a very happy weekend in DC and were able to also see Veronica's Lilong (grandfather) and our old friends Arlene and Mark and their growing families. Veronica did not cry once during the baptism, not even when the water was poured on her head. Seriously, she's such a happy baby. Thanks to everyone who could make the baptism, and thanks especially to my mom and UI for hosting so many people and hosting yet another amazing party. And super thanks to my mom for the wonderful food. She outdid herself. Again.
