October 2020

October 2020 highlights included:

* Door frame height measurements for the kids. We try to do this on birthdays, so we were about a month late for Veronica's birthday measurement.
* More fall soccer for the kids (with lots of videos!)
* The very first Virtual Wine & Dine: Dressing up was optional albeit encouraged, but wine was mandatory!
* Outdoor dining to enjoy the incomparable New England fall weather
* Pandemic hair coloring for the kids. Because their hair is so dark, this involved bleaching the color out of their hair first, then applying the hair dye. The dye was semi-permanent, proven by the fact that Max had it dribbling down his face and into his mask during a soccer game. Lovely!
* A trip to visit Ninong, Tito Erik, and Charlie in East Hampton: We visited a farm with lots of animals to pet (my faves were Piggy Smallz & Snoop Hog!), plenty of pumpkins, rubber ducky races, a corn maze (a maize maze!), and lasso practice!
* Dropping off our ballots at Town Hall. Huzzah, our candidates won!
* Celebrating my birthday, including Veuve, orchids, Lola's macarons, and Adrian's lobster Gorgonzola linguine with pistachio and rocket. All favorites of mine.
* The first snow of the winter season
* Halloween! Some of our neighbors got really creative with their candy delivery systems. Trick-or-treating was definitely toned down this year, but the kids still had a blast!

September 2020

September 2020 activities included:
* The kids going to a couple of small outdoor birthday parties for their friends.
* We were very happy to have my mom and Ian drive all the way up from VA for the week of Veronica's 11th birthday. My mom made an amazing rainbow birthday cake that Veronica helped decorate. While they were here they celebrated their wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary!
* Veronica trying out her new birthday roller blades.
* Veronica's big gift this year was her very own Chromebook!
* More steamed pork buns and sushi-making with Lola.
* Adrian and I taking advantage of the grandparents' visit by going out on a date night.
* Later on in September, the four of us took a day trip to Newburyport.
* The first day of school for the kids, which was a remote day. This school year the kids are in-person 2 days a week, and remote for the other 3 days. Veronica is in 5th grade, and Max is in 3rd grade. The kids have adapted remarkably well to all of the changes this pandemic has caused, and I marvel at their ability to adapt and their resiliency. They are great kids.
* The beginning of fall soccer season for the kids.
* The first day of in-person school.
* The beginning of fall in New England!
