Hi families,
We did a fun and tasty math activity. We took M+M's and graphed them by color. Then we counted to see which one we had the most of and least of. Then we ate them. That was their fav part!
Max is wearing a green hat and a green and blue outfit, very intently pouring water from one vessel into another.

Subject: Preschool Beats the Heat
Hello Parents,
I hope everyone is staying cool today on this scorcher of a Wednesday. Because of the heat we weren't allowed outside for very long, but the kids wanted to brave the elements and get outside for some water play. We set up the sprinkler and a water table and the kids had a blast splashing around. The kids managed to pack a ton of fun into our short outdoor time. They loved pouring water on each other and running through the sprinklers! I've attached some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
The kids' school portraits really came out great this year. Almost all of them were awesome, so we decided to purchase the entire digital package! Here are the best ones (click to enlarge any photo):
I know I'm the most biased, but they are so beautiful.
Max's teacher told me Max was totally hamming it up for the photographer.
A not so casual floor pose
This photo just cracks me up. His expression is hilarious!
I can't believe she's graduating and going to kindergarten!
Eric- I went to my first Red sox game and I caught a ball. The ground crew helped me and I went camping.
Ian- I went on two vacations! First I went to a hotel and last I went to camping. I roasted marshmallows and went to the water. I caught a fish and it had stripes on the side.
Yael- I went to my dentist's house and they have a little white fluffy dog and a new baby. I even took the dog for a walk.
Lila- I went to my daddy's friends house and played with three boys there.
Veronica- Well first I watched inside out and then had some guests over. We made a rocket and space station out of cardboard and then decorated it.
Olivia- I went on vacation. I don't really know where, but it was kinda near the water. I got to sleep over there and eat breakfast and dinner there.
Ben- I went blueberry picking. I also picked zucchini and basil to made pesto in the winter. I picked the biggest zucchini ever.
Hi Everyone,
We had a very busy day today. We played in our beach and campground, we played with sand and seashells, and worked on ocean puzzles. Dr. Joyce, our dentist came to visit. She talked to us about why it's so important to brush our teeth and she use her big toothbrush and frog to show us how to brush them correctly. Then we took turns while she looked at our teeth and counted how many we had. (We would like to take this opportunity to apologize for not putting out the permission slip for the dentist, this was an oversight on our part and we are really sorry.) We also went to the roof top garden for our PICNIC FRIDAY!!! WE all had a great time up there and after lunch we walked around and looked at all the flowers and plants. Hope you enjoy our slideshow. Have a great weekend!

Subject: Super Pre-K to the Rescue
Hello Parents and Happy Friday!
Today marks the end of our SuperHero week and the kids are having a blast. They each created their own alter ego Super Hero, and have put together costumes to form the team of Super Pre-K!
Ian created Ostrich Boy, Veronica is Force Field Girl, Yael is Sparkle Girl, Ben is the Puzzler, and Eric is Hawk. They spent all morning on the playground in their "headquarters" under the structure planning missions to make the playground a safer place for the toddlers. Later today we will put together a class comic book and I will make a copy for each child to take home. I have attached some pictures of these powerful superheroes.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the day as we all look forward to a nice weekend.
Derek
Attached you will find a power point of our first day using the sprinklers at the field. The children had a blast jumping and running around the sprinklers. Also enjoyed playing at the water table with large and small containers, filling and emptying them onto containers and onto their heads!
Max is barely visible, but he has on blue shirt and green hat, he's got his hand on a fish tank (of course). (click to enlarge)

Hi families,
We had a fun girl's day today! First we walked to the roof top garden and then went to the Coop and read a ton of books. We got rained on a little, but we didn't mind.

Subject: July 2nd Daily Sheet
Hello Parents,
I hope everyone is having a great day as we look forward to this long Fourth of July weekend. We had a really fun week in Preschool and we capped it off today by flying kites in the field. The kids all took turns running around with the kites and everyone had a blast! I've attached a daily sheet with some pictures of the kite flying action. We will also be using them this afternoon due to overwhelming demand of more turns with the kites.
Everyone enjoy the rest of your day, and have a safe and fun Fourth of July weekend!

Subject: Fire Station Field Trip
Hello Parents,
I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. The Preschool room is certainly having a great day because of our awesome field trip to the Fire Station. We got very lucky and had one of the Sergeants show us all around the inside and outside of the station. We saw three different kinds of fire trucks, their equipment room, the control room, and even got to see a fireman in full gear.
The kids had a great time and had lots of great questions to ask the firemen. The firemen could not have been any nicer, and the children really seemed to learn a lot from them. We will definitely be writing thank you cards to them, and will mail them out later this week.
Veronica's school held a graduation ceremony for all of the kids that will be leaving in the fall. The ceremony was very sweet, with the graduating kids singing several songs (some with dance moves!), and the preschool class (including Max) watching. The sun was SUPER bright that day, my phone didn't handle the differences in shade and sun very well, sorry! Here are photos and two videos of the ceremony (click to enlarge any photo):
Veronica knew all of the songs and has quite a strong voice. Her teacher told me, "Thank goodness for Veronica because she's carrying everyone in the class during the singing!"
My phone ran out of storage after these two videos, I think Adrian has a video of the actual diploma ceremony. But here are a few more photos:
Afterwards, we all celebrated with dinner at the Black Horse. Here's a cute video of the kids at dinner:
Here is a collection of miscellaneous photos from May 2015 that didn't make it into any specific albums (click to enlarge any photo). Highlights include: lots of photos of the munchkins, Veronica losing a few teeth (to date, she's lost her 4 front teeth: 2 top and 2 bottom), birthday parties for the kids' friends, the kids using Daddy as a sort of string-less maypole, me chopping off almost 12 inches of hair for donation, and a few food photos. Enjoy!
