TSC Riverboat Cruise Field Trip 10July2014
In July, our daycare took a field trip: a riverboat cruise along the Charles River. Since the daycare is in Kendall Square, it is very close to the the Charles River. It was a gorgeous day as we set out from the daycare to walk to the boat dock. We enjoyed fabulous views of Boston on one side, and Cambridge on the other. Both kids had a great time. Here are a few photos.

Veronica with the wind on her face, and mouth!
Max with Tang Residence Hall (building on the left). Tang is where I lived my first year at MIT, and where Adrian came to live with me the summer after. Ah, memories.

I guess the view wasn't quite as intriguing as Ritz crackers and Cool Ranch Doritos. Frida, Zofia, Audrey, Veronica and Samuel.

July 2014 Miscellaneous Photos
Here are a few photos from July 2014.
We went to a birthday party for one of Veronica's classmates at a playground. She was determined to climb to the top of the structure. She was super proud of herself when she got to the top, and so were we.
Veronica built a castle our of blocks for her princesses. I had assumed she pot those two capes (pink and purple) at the top of the tower to represent flags/banners, but Veronica corrected me. They were the sloped roofs like the ones on the castle in the movie Frozen. Of course!

IP Lowell Folk Festival 27July2014
Every year, Veronica's Filipino school (aka IP = Iskwelahang Pilipino = Filipino School) does it's major fundraiser by selling Filipino food at the Lowell Folk Festival. IP is the most popular vendor, usually sporting a long line of hungry patrons willing to wait for delicious Filipino food. This year Veronica and I volunteered at the festival while Daddy and Max explored Lowell and enjoyed the Folk Festival. It rained a little bit, but that didn't stop IP or the folks buying the food. Here are a few photos from the day.

Child labor! Veronica was such an industrious dishwasher.
I gave Veronica a break from washing dishes. She, Adrian and Max went to explore Lowell. Then it started to rain. This is how they returned.
Fried Rice Station
Lumpia & Turon Rolling Station
Max LOVED the pancit.
They conked out on the ride home!

July 4th in NYC with Ninong
For the 4th of July holiday, we went to visit Ninong in NYC. Despite his busy work schedule, Ninong was able to go on a Circle Line cruise with us. We also all took a nice walk around Central Park. We used the trip as an opportunity to see an old college friend of Patricia's from Cooper Union, as well as a short trip to see Adrian's godfather and grandmother in West Hartford. Here are a couple of photos from the trip:

TSC Pre-K Graduation 13June2014
Veronica started pre-K mid-way through last year due to a vacancy. Therefore all of her pre-K friends graduated this year. Because Cambridge has junior kindergarten (JK), some of her pre-K friends are going to JK and some are going into kindergarten. Actually, some of her preschool friends also graduated since they'll be going to JK. Winchester does not have JK so Veronica will be staying at TSC one more year until she starts kindergarten in the fall of 2015. Since she was the only pre-K friend not graduating, they gave her the special job of helping hand out the flowers. She even led the class in singing Frozen's "Let It Go". Here are photos of Veronica with her graduating pre-K and preschool friends. Some of these friends she has known since she was only a few months old. It was very sad to see them go. Luckily, like Veronica, almost all of them have younger siblings at TSC so we still keep in touch with the families.
Veronica and friends: Gavin, Samuel, Adina, Lucas, Mia, Frida, Audrey, Zofia. Veronica has known some of these kids since the Infant 1 room at TSC. Veronica specifically wore that red dress because she wanted to look like the graduates.

Handing Samuel a flower. Samuel is a day older than Veronica, and they were born in the same hospital! We've known Sam and his family since they joined TSC at 7 months old.
