Max Daycare Photos: Construction Work

---------- Forwarded message ----------
Date: Fri, Dec 9, 2016 at 4:44 PM
Subject: Today in Preschool and Pre-K

Greetings Preschool and Pre-K families,

Today we were combined all day. We enjoyed circle with Renee as they read The I Love You book bringing our author's study on Todd Parr to an end. We then explored activities that reflected on the books we read by Parr this week. After reviewing community helpers, the construction workers in their hard hats went to work in the block corner. We played a matching game with letters and even made our own words.

Please see the link below to learn more about our week and our day today!

Happy Friday!,

Here is a video of the parade:

Then their two classes (Bihni in the front, Ylang Ylang in the back) sang Heto Heto Na, the Filipino version of Jingle Bells. Max is in the middle and Veronica is directly behind him.

Then the Ylang Ylang class spelled out:

Max's First Basketball Game 03Dec2016

Adrian signed Max up for basketball and he had his first session this past weekend. Apparently, each session begins with practice, then there is an actual game with another team. The league has 8 teams and Max is on the Hornets. And Max is Number 1!
Here are a few photos.

November 2016

November brought Ninong and the King & I to Providence. The King & I National Tour's first stop was Providence, which is great because Ninong was able to drive up to spend Halloween with us. See that post by clicking here. The first weekend of November, we drove down to Providence to watch Ninong on stage. It was Max's first time seeing the King & I and he loved it. It was nice to be able to spend some time with Ninong before he travels the country on tour.

November also brought a birthday party for Max's friend, Micah, a trip to Phoenix to present a paper at a conference for me (Patricia), IP (Iskwelahang Pilipino = Filipino School) for the kids (including Veronica dancing the tinikling!), and Thanksgiving. This was the first Thanksgiving where it was just the four of us, and it was nice and quiet. Adrian and I cooked the classic dishes (including cooking the turkey in the Big Green Egg), and the kids even tried most of them! Plus, Adrian did a bang-up job making his first apple pie. And I made monkey bread for breakfast, which the kids loved.

Click here to see all of the photos and videos from November 2016. There are lots of hilarious videos of the kids dancing in the beginning of the month, plus videos of Veronica dancing tinikling. Enjoy!
