Snow and Snow and More Snow

February has brought A TON of snow to the Boston area. Two weeks ago, Ninong (Jose) came for a long weekend. He arrived the day before the blizzard (also known as Nemo). And thank goodness he did because he was a big help with cooking, shoveling, and babysitting. Here are a few photos from the weekend of the blizzard with Jose. (Click on the photos to enlarge.)
Veronica & Ninong ready to brave the snow!

Snow blocking the screen door.

Adrian, Veronica and Jose starting to dig the cars out. That lump to the right next to the bushes is Jose's car.

Veronica plays while Adrian and Jose shovel. And shovel. And shovel. And shovel some more. The snow was too high for the snow blower. Which was fine considering it was buried under the snow!

Taking a break from digging out.

Mommy and Max venturing out.

Jose's car has been freed from its snowy cocoon!

Our older car, the front of which is completely buried in a snow drift. Our snow blower is in there somewhere.

We got over 2 feet of snow. The snow was definitely taller than Veronica in some places.

Ninong goofing around.

Daddy relaxing in a patio chair. Veronica armpit-deep in snow.

Snow bunny!

Max and Ninong watching us from inside the living room.

Rain was forecast for the next few days, so Adrian got up on the flat part of our roof to clear off the snow. Here he is clearing off the sky light.

Ninang (Elyse) came to visit the following weekend and guess what? We had another snowstorm! Not as much snow as the previous weekend (thank goodness), but still a decent amount.
Elyse and Veronica building snow men.

We went for a hike in the Fells. The area behind us is all water.

Apparently, Elyse and I had no idea we had just walked underneath this downed tree.

Veronica preferred to ride.

And here's a video of Adrian and Veronica sledding down a hill in the Fells. I'm holding the camera and carrying Max, you can hear both of us out of frame.

As I write this post, it is snowing AGAIN, for the third weekend in a row! The snow is pretty, but I'm ready for spring! For more snowy photos from the past few weeks, click here.

  1. Good grief--I just saw all these photos of snow. You are living in a different country. DC has been pathetic by all accounts. Just a few inches of snow all winter. Looks like you got our share--in spades. Ah well, VeeVee looks like she is having a great time and Ninong secretly loves it all as well.
