Happy Father's Day!

I could say that's what the kids are saying here, but I'd be lying.

Max's 4th Birthday & Mother's Day 6-8May2016

May was jam-packed with activities. The first week consisted of Veronica's ballet recital and my mom's birthday dinner. Click here to see that post. The following week included Mother's Day Brunch at Max's daycare, celebrating Max's birthday at daycare, Max's birthday party at the Boston Fire Museum, and Mother's Day.

Mother's Day Brunch at Max's daycare began with the kids signing songs to the mommies. Max is in the center of the back row in the dark blue Star Wars shirt.

That same afternoon I brought doughnuts and doughnut holes to daycare for the kids to celebrate Max's brithday. As the birthday boy he got to hold the book and "read" to the class. Click the link at the bottom to get to an album with a video of his class singing "Happy Birthday" to him.

That weekend we had Max's birthday party at the Boston Fire Museum.

After the party, we invited the Budde family to continue the festivities over at our house with some mint juleps and Kentucky Derby watching.

The day after the birthday party was Mother's Day. We went to Legal Seafoods. The great thing about Max's birthday being in early May is that means both of his grandmothers are in town for Mother's Day.

Kids' Corner WOW Awards

This little lady was just awarded "Most Independent" in her class! Her favorite teacher even told me she wanted to name it the "Wonder Woman Award", but she thought the other kids would get jealous so she went with "Most Independent". You go, Veronica!

Max Daycare Photos: When I Grow Up

Date: Fri, Jun 10, 2016 at 1:56 PM

Hi, Preschool families!
Please enjoy our write-up of today's circle discussion. It's so amazing to hear from the children about their dreams and aspirations for the future! It's never too early to encourage and empower them to work hard and follow their dreams! I urge you to casually ask them this question every now and again and have a conversation about what interests them. It's great to be able to look back and reflect on their answers, see if they change, see if they are still focused on the same thing. It will provide you a lot of interesting feedback into their personalities, current interests and their thought-process.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Since we are talking about the dentist this week, we decided to make a fun, "tooth-y" treat! The children spread sun butter on apple slices, and then placed four mini marshmallows on top, as the teeth in the smiley mouth. We had so much fun assembling them…and even more fun eating them!

Enjoy!

Max & Marley

A Bob Marley song came on in the car this morning:
Max:  What's he saying?
Me: Movement of Jah people.
Max: Why is he saying "pixie dust"?
Me: (after a bout of laughter) He's not saying "pixie dust", he's saying "Exodus", but with a Jamaican accent.

Taking Lilong for Some Lobster

In Marblehead!

Camping Out in the Study

We touched up the paint in their bedroom so they slept in the study.
I love that they're basically reaching out to each other in their sleep.

Watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone!

We finished reading the book so the movie was the reward. This was during a scary part.
